Executive

Strategy. Transformation. Leadership with measurable results.

From the world’s first lithium-ion professional products to turnarounds and the transformation of entire business divisions — over more than 20 years, I shaped organizations and know what it takes to move them forward. As a shareholder of a family business, I know what it means to take long-term responsibility. Preparing Mittelstand companies for the future — through leadership experience, operational excellence, and technology — that’s what drives me.

Katharina Hopp, a successful executive and board member, smiles at a business event while wearing a light blue blazer and glasses, symbolizing leadership and expertise.

Key Areas of Expertise – Executive Overview

I combine strategic vision with profound execution — building structures, leading teams, delivering results. I leverage technology and data to create transparency, enable better decisions, and drive effective execution — not as an IT project, but as business transformation.

For me, clarity and transparency aren’t just values — they’re how I work: in analysis, in dialogue, in decision-making. I care deeply about organizations and teams growing — even if it takes difficult decisions to move the needle. Straight to the point when it counts — always with respect for the people involved.

Leadership

People are at the center of every transformation — because strategies are executed by people, not org charts. I lead international organizations of 50 to 1,300 employees: with trust, clarity, and a genuine commitment to empowering people to take real ownership. I bring mixed teams together across silos and make clear decisions under pressure — including an orderly business wind-down within three months with full team reallocation.

Business Performance & Value Creation

Driving growth, protecting margin, and building efficiency — that’s what P&L responsibility up to €1.25B looks like in practice. I’ve reduced the cost base by ~20%, systematically returned underperforming portfolios (up to €320M) to profitability, and introduced KPI-based management models that create transparency and accountability across regions. The measure of success isn’t activity — it’s the value created.

Technology & Innovation

I deploy technology and data as strategic levers — not as IT projects, but as business transformation. I have initiated cross-divisional IoT strategies across four divisions, rolled out global platforms (S/4HANA, Salesforce) to 110 plants, and brought innovations to market — including wireless charging and the world’s first lithium-ion portfolio for B2B markets. I align technology and product teams clearly with business priorities and customer value.

Transformation & Operating Models

I design operating models that drive clarity, accountability, and operational excellence — across regions and functions. I systematically redesign governance and processes, prioritize portfolios by value contribution, risk, and resources. I scaled global delivery models to 75% low-cost share — and I don’t shy away from difficult decisions when they’re needed.
